Common Questions
Q: What is the Booking/Cancellation Policy with Soaring Eagle Outfitters?
A. A 50% NON-refundable deposit is required at booking and full payment is required 7 days before the trip. Once full payment is received there are no refunds available if you cancel a trip. If the trip is cancelled by the guide due to weather or high water (safety is our first priority), you will have a credit on record to reschedule your trip for the same calendar year.
Q: Are gratuities / tips required?
A: Tips are not required, but always appreciated by our guides. Your gratuities help the guides cover the flies they tie, tackle they provide, and gear they let the clients use.
Q: What time do trips start and end?
A: Half day trips typically run 8am - 12pm or 1pm - 5pm. During winter hours, if availability exists, half day trips may be run from 10AM to 2PM. Full day trips will start at 8AM and end at 5PM.
Q: What is included with a trip?
A: Use of rods, reels, flies, leader, tippet, indicators, and weights are included in the trip fee. Ask during booking about the availability of waders or boots.
Q: Are there any requirements if I want to use my own gear for trophy trips?
A: For standard nymphing or throwing dries, rods/reels must be at least a 5-weight. If euro nymphing, rods/reels must be at least a 3-weight.
Q: Am I required to have a fishing license for the trip?
A: Yes. A valid Georgia Fishing License and Trout Stamp are required for our trips and are not included in the trip amount. They can be obtained HERE
Q: Is lunch provided?
A: Lunch is provided on all Full Day Trips. A lunch can be provided on half day trips for a $25 charge per 2 people; please let us know when booking if you'd like lunch provided for your half day trip.
Q: Are upgraded lunch options available?
A: Yes. We can provide upgraded lunch options. Upgrades are dependent on venue/location. We can also accommodate many common dietary restrictions such as gluten free or vegetarian. Please discuss upgraded meals and or dietary restrictions during booking. Additional charges may apply.
Q: Do you fish in the rain?
A: YES. Sometimes the best fishing can be found on raining/overcast/cold days. We will not fish in unsafe conditions, but be prepared to fish in the rain.
Q: Do you offer lodging?
A: No, we do not offer lodging. There are cabin rentals on VRBO / Air BNB as well as multiple hotels in the Blue Ridge, Blairsville, Dahlonega and Helen areas.
Q: Do you rent out Kayaks or provide a shuttle service?
A: No.
Q: Are your trips fly fishing only?
A: All trophy trout trips and national forest adventures are fly fishing only. We will make an exemption if there is a child wanting to fish on the stocked waters we are permitted to be on within the National Forest.
Q: Are your trips all catch and release?
A: All trophy trout trips and national forest adventures are catch and release only. We will make an exemption for a child if fishing for stocked fish within the National Forest.
Q: Do you offer unguided fishing on your trophy waters?
A: No. Guests are not allowed on the property without a guide.
